Rookie Minors acts as a natural “next step” into Minor Baseball for graduating Mini Minors. This division stresses skills development, peer pitching and more “real game experience.” Unlike Minors, where players pitch to each other from a full 46 foot mound, a closer 38 foot pitching distance is used. After 3 called balls, the batting team’s coach will pitch (before the May long weekend, a tee is used instead). No batter walks. Batters either hit or strike out.
