We are excited to announce that we will have a professional coach leading the clinics this fall. Registration will remain open until October 16th. Clinics will be held on Sundays at the Lansdowne North gym, from October 20th to December 8th (8 sessions), times are below. The cost is $140 for the fall session. We can only accomodate a maximum of 20 kids in each session so sign up early to avoid disapointment when the clinics fill up.

-Minors 3-430pm (only 1 spot left)

-Majors 430-6pm

Minors Fall Skills clinics are for players who plan to play Minors in Spring of 2025. Majors Fall Skills clinics are for players who plan to play Majors in Spring of 2025. Players who don’t intend to assess for Tournament team baseball are welcome to participate in Fall Skills clinics but should have a basic skill set established as these sessions are not for the novice player.  If you are unsure about what your player is ready for, please feel free to ask and one of our clinics coaches will contact you.

Note there will also be clinics from January to March for Rookie Minors, Minors and Majors, with a twice a week option for both Minors and Majors.

Come Join Our Park!

As we begin our Fall Ball season, our past president Megen Galloway’s journey from parent to president at National Little League is a timely reminder of the incredible impact that volunteers can have on our community and the lives of young players.

Megen Galloway’s story is one that captures the heart of what National Little League stands for. Like many parents, Megen first became involved when her children began playing baseball. What started as cheering from the stands soon evolved into coaching, where she found joy in watching young players grow both on and off the field. Her passion for the community and the game led her to volunteer on the Board of Directors, and eventually, she stepped into the role of President, serving for five years with dedication.

Under her leadership, National Little League, Victoria’s oldest and most historic park, continued to thrive, offering kids a safe, supportive environment to play baseball. But the magic of Little League goes beyond the game itself. It’s about building friendships, learning teamwork, and being part of something larger than yourself. Little League is unique because every team, no matter where in the world, plays by the same rules. It’s a tradition that unites communities globally.

You don’t need to have a deep knowledge of baseball to make a difference. Megen didn’t. What you do need is a desire to be part of something special, to give back to your community, and to help kids experience the joy of the game. A small commitment could turn into something much bigger, just as it did for Megen, whose journey from parent to president has had a lasting impact on the league and the families it serves.

We invite you to volunteer and become part of this wonderful tradition. Whether it’s coaching, joining the board, or simply lending a hand, your involvement could make all the difference in the lives of the next generation of players. Together, we can continue to build the foundation that is National Little League, a place where kids learn, grow, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Volunteering is rewarding on so many levels. Watching these kids develop skills, build social connections, and gain confidence through the game can have just as much impact on the volunteers as it does on the players. We have an amazing group of people on our board and are always looking for more passionate individuals to join us. No task is too small, and every bit of help is appreciated.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please send us a message on Facebook or email us at info@nationallittleleague.org. You never know, it might be something that not only enriches the lives of the kids, but yours as well.

Russ Ashworth (1940-2024)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russ Ashworth, an original player from National Little League’s first season in 1953. Russ played third base for North Kiwanis and was a cherished member of our community, known for his warm “Hey, how you doing?”

As one of our first players, Russ lived a full and inspiring life. With a strong work ethic, he revived Peppers Grocery into a thriving business and later co-owned Willow Wind Feed. He was deeply passionate about sports, playing hockey, lacrosse, slow pitch, and even achieving a hole-in-one in golf.

Russ cherished his friendships and enjoyed many travels with his beloved wife, Ellen. His legacy of love, dedication, and hard work will continue to inspire us all.

As we remember Russ, let us not be sad that it ended, but be glad that it happened.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Thursday, August 15th, at 1:00 PM at the Langford Legion, 761 Station Rd, Victoria.

Rest in peace, Russ. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Russ is pictured here, second from the left. This photo was taken last year at National’s 70th anniversary celebrations.
